Substance Abuse
At Mercy Memorial Hospital, we believe that chemical dependency is a disease-a disease that can be treated. Our comprehensive approach to treatment recognizes the biological, social, psychological, and spiritual components of each person. We believe in using each person's strengths to develop skills and abilities needed in the lifelong process of recovery.

Patients may enter our outpatient treatment program at any stage of recover. Following the initial evaluation, an individually designed treatment program is established. Treatment may include:

  • Evaluation and consultation
  • Individual, group, and family counseling
  • Intensive outpatient
  • Educational programs
  • Children and adult children of chemically dependent adults
  • Cooperation with self-help and 12-step programs as appropriate such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Recovery Inc., and Co-Dependency Anonymous.
  • Access to the Mercy Memorial Hospital continuum of care
The treatment staff includes caring professionals with the knowledge and experience to provide outpatient substance abuse treatment for chemical dependency. Under the direction of a fully licensed psychiatrist, certified addition counselors, social workers, and psychologists work together with patients and families to develop the insight and coping skills needed for a substance-free life.
