Functional Capacity Evaluation

A functional capacity evaluation is a comprehensive, objective assessment performed by occupational and physical therapists to determine a client's physical capabilities. The client's current capabilities will be compared to the essential job demands for a safe return to work. The assessment includes a musculoskeletal evaluation and demonstrated functional abilities (i.e. bend, squat, push/pull, life, etc.). Standardized testing and equipment are utilized in the process.

Work Reconditioning

Work reconditioning is a cost-effective program supervised by occupational therapists to assist the client in achieving his/her optimal work potential. This is a progressive work reconditioning program that includes job simulation, as well as use of standardized equipment, to improve strength, endurance, and body mechanics to facilitate a safe return to work.

Job Coaching

The occupational therapist is on the job site to monitor and facilitate a safe return of the employee to the job by recommending an appropriate, graduated, return-to work schedule and job tasks.

Acute Injury Management

The physical and/or occupational therapy staff evaluate the acutely injured worker to obtain and objective assessment of his/her abilities. A plan of treatment is established with the goal to cost effectively return the client to the work environment, maximize function, and promote wellness. Support staff includes athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, massage therapists, and certified therapy assistants. Regular communication regarding progress is established between the employer, physician, and therapist.
