Significant life changes, difficulties in coping with grief and loss, adjustments to retirement, changes in mental abilities, mobility or physical health may lead to depression, anxiety, or other psychological symptoms in the older adult. Untreated, these symptoms can have serious consequences for the individual as well as the family member and friends.
