Employee Assistance Program

What is employee assistance?

An employee assistance program (EAP) is a worksite-based program, designed to help employees identify and resolve personal, health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, or emotional problems that may adversely affect job performance.

Why EAP?

Serious personal problems take a toll on an individual's general health and well-being. Employees who are struggling with these issues are more likely to use health care services, be involved in accidents, miss work, and produce less than their co-workers-all of which affect an employer's bottom line.

The Employee Assistance Program can help an employee get back on track to productivity and health. EAP can be good news for the employee who gets help resolving his or her problem. EAP can also be good news for the employer who gets help with complex human resource issues.

What Services Are Included?

The Employee Assistance Program provides confidential services to meet the special needs of employees and employers. The EAP providers:

The Employee Assistance Program can be tailored to fit your employees' needs and your company's resources.

Does EAP Make A Difference?

Employees represent both investments and opportunity for employers- the foundation for growth and success. Employers expend valuable resources recruiting, selecting, training, and retraining qualified, experienced workers.

When a personal problem interferes with an employee's ability to perform at his/her usual level, the company's human resource investment is jeopardized.

An EAP provides brief, focused counseling to help the employee identify and resolve the problem. Many companies have documented a 2 to 1 return - for every $1 spent on EAP, the company saved $2 or more in reduced lost work time, higher productivity, and lower health care costs.
