Four New Health Offerings Free of Charge for Cancer Survivors and Cancer Patients

Mercy Memorial Cancer Connection, together with the Monroe Cancer Center, present four free community health programs for cancer survivors and cancer patients.
All programs are held at the Monroe Cancer Center, 800 Stewart Road, Monroe.
Healing Arts Jewelry Class – 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 9. Find your inner sparkle. Reservations are required for this bracelet-making class taught by Mary Goode. Exercise for Cancer Patients – 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 14. Learn the benefits. Adopt the strategies. See the results. Physical Therapist Steve Brown shares techniques and helps develop a plan for cancer patients to become stronger, healthier and more fit. WE CAN – Women Living with Advanced Cancer – 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 27. This is an informal group of women who are faced with the challenge of advanced stage or metastatic cancers. Meet and discuss issues, struggles and successes. Ask about a special relaxation session, lead by Mari Broman. All attendees of the relaxation session receive a free gift. Books from the Heart – Holiday Book Exchange – 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 3. This book club’s members are cancer survivors and cancer caregivers. They meet on the first Monday of each month for lively discussion about a selected book. Guests are asked to bring a gift wrapped new or gently used book to exchange. 2013 Reading List suggestions are needed.
