On Friday, November 11, 2011, MMHS staff and administration were in Baltimore for a day trip to Johns Hopkins Hospital for a prestigious event. MMHS was one of two hospitals in Michigan chosen to appear in the patient safety educational video, Culture of Unit Safety Program.

Dr. Sidney Smith, physician champion, Patricia Poupard, Ann Mercer, Connie Hall-Burke and Bridget McLaughlin were asked to be in a video for the Culture of Unit Safety to talk about how to implement the program at any hospital, the barriers, roll-out, administrative support and the team of physicians and nurses.

Mercer said the experience was amazing and she is very thankful for the administrative support in allowing the team to make the trip.
