Emergency Medicine Residency Program
About the Program
The Emergency Medicine Residency based at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is a new osteopathic community-based program that received its initial accreditation by the American Osteopathic Association on August 1, 2013. The inaugural class began July 1, 2014. The mission of our program is to provide an organized educational experience leading to the competent practice of emergency medicine. Training is based on a core curriculum with measurable goals and objectives that meet or exceed those outlined in the Basic Standards for Residency Training in Emergency Medicine as approved by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. A dedicated Emergency Medicine Faculty is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the quality of training and performance, to standard, of the residents. Our focus is to provide residents with the necessary skill-set to function efficiently and effectively in a variety of emergency medicine settings to include, military, public health, teaching, research, administration. Our philosophy is to develop quality emergency medicine physicians willing to practice in our nation’s most needed and underserved communities.
