Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Provider and Renewal Classes
Offered through The American Heart Association, this advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) provider class is designed for the health care professional. It provides participants with realistic, hospital-based cardiac event scenarios and review training to identify early periarrest and respiratory conditions, use of automated external defibrillator (AED), effective communication and more. Participants have the opportunity to attend basic life support (BLS) care through fast track at an additional cost. If participants plan to take both BLS and ACLS, they MUST enroll in both classes separately.
A test is given on a separate date upon conclusion of class.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Fast Track Part 2
This is a skills test only. Before attending BLS Fast Track Part 2, participants MUST complete the online BLS class Participants MUST take "BLS for Healthcare Provider Online Part 1." offered through The American Heart Association before entering this skills test. Health care professionals and first responders may take the AHA online course at: http://www.onlineaha.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=info.bls. The AHA course (fast track option only) covers both adult and child/infant aspects of rescue breathing, bag-mask use, CPR/AED and relief of choking.
There is a fee for this skills test. To register for the next session, complete the online request form.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Full Class
Offered through The American Heart Association, this basic life support (BLS) class provides training for health care professionals and first responders. The course covers both adult and child/infant aspects of rescue breathing, bag-mask use, CPR/AED and relief of choking. Participants will be able to practice with video demonstration.
There is a fee for this class.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Offered through The Emergency Nurse Association, this Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) provides nurses with information to improve their skill level and confidence. Nurses will learn necessary verbal and non-verbal skills to care for pediatric patients.
There is a fee for this two-day class.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Provider and Renewal Classes
Offered through The American Heart Association, this pediatric advanced life support (PALS) provider class provides health care professionals with necessary knowledge and skills to identify and treat critically ill children and infants. This course provides realistic cardiac event scenarios and training to teach pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest. It also covers stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency.
A test is given upon conclusion of class. There is a fee for these classes. Provider class is a two-day class.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Offered through the Emergency Nurse Association, this Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) teaches core-level knowledge to care for trauma patients in an emergency setting. Nurses will learn to use the systematic, standardized approach to care for injured patients.

Smoking Cessation Class
MMHS offers an educational and supportive outpatient Smoking Cessation Counseling class for individuals interested in receiving assistance to help them quit smoking. A doctor’s order is required to enroll. Participants meet face-to-face or have one-on-one phone sessions with a counselor once a week for four consecutive weeks.
Nicotine replacement options will be discussed during your counseling sessions in accordance with your doctor’s direction. Payment is due before the first session. Daytime and evening classes are available. Please call (734) 240-4188 to schedule.
Diabetes Education
Diabetes Self-Management Refresher
With two hours of diabetes education and two hours of nutrition counseling, a certified diabetes educator assists diabetic patients in re-acclimating themselves to living with diabetes. Using the latest information on diabetes management, patients learn to balance food, physical activity, glucose monitoring and medicine.

Nutrition Services
Nutrition During Cancer Treatment
A registered dietitian helps patients develop meal plans and discuss nutrition, recipe resources, supplements, food safety, cancer prevention and treatment side effects. To enroll, please call (734) 240-4188.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
